The work of art by Jean Bilquin that forms part of the Beaufort Sculpture Park along the Belgian coast.A canoe with human figures rests on the 10-metre high trestles: the artist reduced them to phantoms, unidentifiable! A little further on, a classical figure stands mysteriously watching. Jean Bilquin is a great believer in classical beauty, and this is portrayed here in a subtle way: the whole thing powerfully symbolises the journey of life, with its highs and lows that are common to us all.
